Dear design*sponge e-mails, you put me in way too covetous of mood for 8:30 AM.  But for real, I need an exact recreation of this bathroom, stat.  Except for maybe those slippers, they are kind of silly.

i know i'm getting a little ahead of myself.

But lately all I can think about is moving and owning our own home.  Don't get me wrong, I like where we live and I'm grateful to my parents for renting this house to us, but I long for having something I know is ours for real (kind of).  I have been thinking about school districts and things so when the time comes and we have kids we won't have to worry and know we are in a good place.  I want to get out of Kentucky, and probably head toward Mason or some place like that.  Rob's family is up there and they have a really good school district.  We are possibly years away from being in a position to do anything like this, but I want to get an idea of what we're looking for.

weekend summary

FRIDAY
Rob and I went out to dinner to relax/celebrate his new job that he obtained so quickly.  Praying everything works out [and continues to work out].  Afterward we went to see Ides of March with Anka.  The plot didn't exactly appeal to me (I hate politics...like, so much) but seeing as it was filmed in Cincy and I frequently passed the movie bus on my way to work I was curious to see what parts of the city they used in the film.  The movie was whatever, but it was kind of cool to see my city in a movie.
SATURDAY
Laundry, to start the day.  Typical Saturday stuff.  We did some shopping and I splurged on the new Coldplay album, Mylo Xyloto, and Feist's latest, Metals.  The new Coldplay is really good, but I think I will always prefer their early stuff.  Feist's new album is lovely.  I got it on vinyl since we have a record player now!  I listened to the entire thing twice while cleaning the house.
SUNDAY
We went to church.  Rob played bass in the worship band.  Afterward, we went to my parents' for lunch and then Rob left for home but I stayed because my mom asked me to photograph a shower she was having for a girl who recently started attending the church.  I got out of there around 5 and have been hanging around home alone ever since because Rob is playing Dungeons in Dragons at his old professor's house (nerd alert).

I'm praying for a smooth and peaceful week.  I really need one.

Every once in a while I attempt a self-portrait.  But I feel like I always look like I was just crying and my face looks so tired and worn out.  I promise I'm okay, haha. 

ups and downs

So, I wasn't going to write anything about this on here, but seeing as how we let both sides of the family know, I guess it's safe to say that Tuesday, Rob lost his job.  It was both expected and unexpected and has caused a crap ton of stress in the two days since it's happened.  Rob has been working hard revamping his resume and portfolio and sending them out.  And today, he got a call!  And then a job!  It's a 30-day contract that I am praying hard works out only if it is the right fit.  All this junk that went down at his last job is mind-boggling and I really don't want to him to have to go through that again.

Blech, even though he has been contracted by this company, I still can't stop feeling uneasy.  If you have ever found yourself in a position similar maybe you have felt the same way.

In other news, I went with little girl on her very first class field trip today.  They went to Sunrock Farm in Northern Kentucky and it was super cute.  I actually took the same field trip when I was in kindergarten...so only 21 years ago, haha.  She got to pet a rabbit and a cow, brush a horse, feed goats, hold a chick, and even milk a goat!  Though the only thing she really seemed to be interested in was how long until she got to eat lunch...ha.

So glad tomorrow is Friday...I could sleep for an entire day.

TRICK OR TREAT

This morning I took little girl to Rob's office for trick-or-treating.  There are two preschools close by and I guess the office park decided to do a little something special for the kids.  Rob was told to dress up so I went through great lengths to find him a costume.  Do you know who he is?  I certainly hope you said "Waldo".  Because apparently people didn't know who he was.  We couldn't find a red-and-white striped shirt OR an appropriate toboggan so I cut up some of his old white tees and glued them to a red sweartshirt...ha.  And I made my first yarn pom ever and sewed it to a red hat.  Add a pair of rounded specs from Urban and voila! insta-Waldo.  Also, little girl was a witch, and she was really getting into it.

that one time we went to the symphony

yesssss. I totally salvages this photo from our symphony extravaganza a few weeks ago from Rob's iPhone.  Photo quality aside, we were super fancy here after Philip Glass' award dinner thingy (I'm classy).  Now I just need to find somewhere else to go to justify the money I spent on this attire.
