HOLLAAA

Today little girl and I made a trip to Oakley playground with her sweet new sidewalk chalk.  A rather rambunctious little boy joined us for approximately five minutes before his mother scooped him up and placed him in his stroller to leave (italics to emphasize an age range).  As they were leaving little girl yells, "Goodbye!" To which the little boy responds:

"I love you. HOLLAAAA!"

A possibly three-year-old boy, perhaps younger, declared his love and then holla-ed at little girl.  Yep, that actually happened.

In other news, today is our 11 month milestone of being married.  It is crazy to think it has almost been a year.  But at the same time, I feel like it has always been this way.  I hear that's a good thing. We have plans of a weekend getaway for our one-year and though the plans aren't extravagant, I'm really looking forward to our next escape from routine.

In other other news, Rob received his first check to our notofficiallyexistent company that I once mentioned, Two if by Sea.  And so tonight we set up a business account and made our first deposit.  It's getting real.

Aaaand since it's Cinco de Mayo, Rob and I celebrated by going to Verizon and dropping way too much money and got him an iPhone 4 for work. That's what this holiday is about, right?  Lucky duck.

about columbus

We returned from our Columbus excursion at 2 AM this morning.  Rob started his new job seven hours later and I entered into one of the worst Mondays since I started my new job.  Well, anyway, here goes the photo dump:

Tonight we totally booked a hotel in Columbus (exotic, right?) for two nights!  I asked for Friday off so I could enjoy a self-proclaimed three day weekend.  We are going to Columbus ultimately to see The Appleseed Cast on Sunday night but decided to make a getaway out of it.  I am so so excited because we have not done anything like this since our married vacation/honeymoon and that was ten months ago.

One complaint: finding a hotel in the area we wanted that wasn't outrageously expensive was stupidly hard.

Note to self: plan more than one day in advance.

easter + rob is twenty-seven

Happy Birthday to my beloved!

Sadly, I did not take near the normal amount of photos I normally do on occasions like these.  But for sure I got pictures of the babies.  My little cousin Chloe at my grandparents' and our nephew Ethan at Rob's parents'.  And my presh grandma.

And of course it wouldn't really have been a family gathering if someone didn't hold Jackson

upside-down for a photo.

I am too tired to actually write about our Easter.  But I can say that it was a very good one.  Church was so good.  Family time was so good.  And now we are just hanging out and watching movies while we sugar crash.  No complaints other than the fact that tomorrow is Monday and I have no desire to go to work.

Today I am tired.

It just so happens that I am irrationally afraid of being killed in a tornado, so once the wind started picking up last night I immediately woke up and checked the weather channel online, only to confirm my worst fear that there was an indeed a tornado warning listed for our county.  Rob was getting frustrated with me for being so afraid and so we both lost about an hour of sleep as I could not go back to bed until the warning was lifted at 2:30 AM.

After work I picked up my brother, Caleb, from school and we went to Kenwood Mall, as I have approximately 3892849494 gifts to purchase for the next two weeks.   Rob's mom's birthday was yesterday, my brother Isaac's birthday is today, and Rob's birthday is on Easter Sunday.  We also are going to our friend Aly and Brandon's daughter's first birthday party on Saturday, and I have to get a wedding gift for my friend Brittany by next weekend.  Phew.  Can you say bank account drainage?

Plus I have to get some kind of Easter treat together for little girl because she has already received Easter gifts from her two former nannies.  These girls give me a run for my money, seriously.

Fortunately, I love consumerism.

Today Rob and I drove out to East Fork State Park, which happens to be a bit flooded at the moment.  

Some quick facts regarding my relationship with East Fork:

1. My mom used to take my brothers and me to East Fork beach when we were little.  We LOVED it.  However, the beach is so disgusting now I don't think I'd even wade in the water.

2. When I was learning to drive, my dad and I always drove through East Fork, because there were never any other cars around and I used to stress out SO BAD when I would be driving and there would be a car right behind me.

3. Once in college my friend Jess and I decided to go hiking in the woods at East Fork.  We didn't tell anybody, didn't bring cell phones, and somehow got lost.  What if we had been eaten by wolves or something?  They'd still be looking for us.
