hahahahahahahaha.
I'm currently enjoying stalking the circa 2004-2007 version of myself.

monday business
I cut my own bangs again. I never, ever, ever, ever, ever learn that this is not a good idea. I will be heading to my mother's tomorrow to remedy this issue.
Over the years (6!) I have pretended that I was going to grow my bangs back out, but unfortunately my hair grows I think on average 1.00003 inches per year, and impatience always trumps will and I end back up in the same situation.
At least the webcam doesn't show off the true nature of my work.
Some advice:
1. Don't cut your own hair
2. If you must, do not use Fiskars school scissors
3. Learn from your mistakes
Also to note!
Tomorrow is March 1! Frugal Chipmans begins officially in a couple of hours! This should be interesting.
Also, when I say I have been listening to Tokyo Police Club lately, I mean that I have listened to the album Champ and nothing else for at least the past seven days straight. Dear goodness, I am in love with this band. So here are my two favorite songs from the album:
Breakneck Speed
Bambi

if money were no object...
Being frugal is lame. Dieting is lame. Working out is lame. But by lame I of course mean kind of necessary. Unfortunately I have spent the past hour browsing websites for things I cannot buy.
But if I could dream about fun warmer-time clothes for just a minute...
...I would so get one of these Fossil backpacks. I wish I didn't love Fossil so much. So expensive.
Or this sundress and romper. Summer, come soon.

all kinds of stuff.
I pretty much failed at diet/exercise this weekend. Like...real bad. I continued that downward spiral this evening, eating more notexactlyheatlhy food and I'm considering blowing off the work out.
Judge me. I don't even care right now.
Frustration with that is mostly due to Rob and I putting in equal amounts of work (me maybe even more), me planning and cooking all of our diet-appropriate meals, me waking Rob up in the morning to work out, and do you know what? Rob has lost ten pounds! And do you know how much I've lost? Zero. Really, life?
Anyway. Diet fails aside, things seem to be looking pretty good for the Chipman household. Rob was presented with a pretty sweet freelance opportunity that could potentially involve me, and I am hoping and praying that it works out the way we think it will. It would involve us finally turning Two if by Sea into a real company! All we know is that we are going to get an LLC license. We have been looking into it so if anybody has done that and has any advice, that would be excellent.
Today was also pretty great because little girl was SO GOOD. Rob and I went to her third birthday bash this past Saturday and she was so pumped about it. Her actual birthday is this Thursday and I'm trying to figure out something fun to do with her. I'm kind of a last minute person.
I am also brainstorming ideas for a logo for my blog. If you ever read my very first entry, you may remember me saying I want to host my own domain, and lucky for me my husband is a web designer, so he has been helping me with ideas for that. I've started sketching a few ideas, which I may post and hope for input over the next few weeks.
Um. So yeah. That's it, I think.

sunshine, glorious sunshine
I sincerely hope you went outside today.
This day has been excellent. Rob and I started out the day with our workout, then I got ready and went to meet my mom at Mitchell's in Kenwood to finally cash in on the gift certificates my aunt gave us as a shower gift last April (May?). Anyway. I got a massage and it was awesommmmmmme. My mom and I then hung out for a little bit and had lunch at Panera, which I discovered is perilous for my current diet. I went to paneranutrition.com and found out that a 1/2 mediterranean veggie sandwich and greek salad is 680 calories! Special thanks to the 220 that came from the greek dressing. But it tastes soooooo goooooood.
Anyway, Rob took a half day from work because he hasn't been feeling well and so we have been hanging out the rest of the afternoon, and after doing some laundry (I could dry some outside!!) and preparing the chicken chili, we went over to Devou Park. It was kind of chilly with the wind so we didn't stay long, but we got to drive around blaring Tokyo Police Club and taking pictures so it was still a good time.

it's wednesday.
eesh today eesh.
Little girl has been sick all week, which means we have been stuck inside every day, 8 hours straight. It also means that she has been extra cranky and mean and taking super short naps. The combination of these things has recently been making me hate life.
My mom called tonight to tell me I need to come out and go through clothes or something that I still have at her house. I proceeded to vent about my agonizing week, questioning whether or not there was something wrong with me for being so irritated by an almostthreeyearold. Naturally she turned the conversation toward questions of am I going to renew my teaching license? Have I signed up for those classes yet? What if I need a good job? Naturally I reiterated that I am not actually interested in teaching at this point in my life and that my license has been expired for over a year and I don't even know how to go about fixing that and even if I needed a good job it's not like I could just walk into a school for an interview and walk out the same day with a job. Naturally this upset her (again). We talk in CIRCLESCIRCLESCIRCLESCIRCLES. Sorry I'm a huge disappointment, mom.
Update on the workout junk: we are no longer doing p90x. This was due to some belated research in which I discovered that if you are wanting to lose weight, p90x will basically not help you do this. You will lose some weight, sure, but mostly you are just building muscle (duh, I should of figured). Which is fine, but I would prefer to lose weight at this point in my life. So now we are on another program which is more cardio-based and shorter (!) so hopefully that works out.
Anyway, things that are good in my life right now to take my mind off of frustrations:
1. manduka prolite yoga mats
2. clean house
3. healthy food in balanced, proper portions
4.the kooks tokyo police club radio station on pandora
5. this weather (62 degree weather in february?!)
6. 1/2 day tomorrow + friday off
7. john robert chipman
8. roses on the dining room table (thanks #7)
9. watching monster (thanks #7)
10. the hobbit (currently rereading)
